Recruiting? Why not your very own apprentice?
Apprenticeships for those aged 16 – 24 are being promoted in the UK to help young people gain the skills they need but companies also have much to gain from an enthusiastic motivated young person that they can train and mould to help build their business.
So far 96% of businesses report positive experiences from engaging in the apprenticeship program.
London employers can also receive £3000 for each apprenticeship recruited up to a maximum of 5 apprentices. The grant is managed by training providers and employers interested in apprenticeships should contact the National Apprenticeship Service on 08000 150 600 to make contact. The training providers manage the grant and the training contract that forms the basis of the apprenticeship agreement between employer and employee. They arrange the grant claim to be paid after the apprentice has worked for 13 weeks and can provide advice on further funding available to pay for the training that the apprentice receives.
